He established the Indian National Army (INA) and with Japanese help was able to free a portion of Indian territory in Manipur from the British, but was eventually defeated by the British due to Japanese abandonment.

Mangal Pandey was an Indian soldier in the East India Company’s army and The first freedom fighter of India. He was the head of the Sepoy Mutiny which led to the Revolt of 1857. He played an important role in creating unrest in Barrackpore. Due to which he was hanged by the British in 1857.

10. Sukhdev
